Do you have a reputation? Do people know who you are, what you are about? If the answer is no, then you have a problem. To be successful, people have to know who you are. They must be able to know, like and trust you. Your reputation is your brand.

You must have your face in the marketplace if you want people to know you. You absolutely have to have a picture of yourself on everything you publish. Every piece of content, every blog post, every video you do, must have your picture. People need to know who you are. Once people start seeing your face around the internet you will start gaining a reputation. When people start to see you, they will start to engage with you.

When people see your picture, they must be able to associate it with something of value. For example, they have read your blog post and gotten something of value from it. They will come back again for more information. The better your information, the more they will come back and the more they will share what they have learned from you. You will become someone that they know. like and trust.

Be A Problem Solver…

One of the ways to gain a reputation is to become a problem solver. Always focus on “one problem – one solution.” Don’t go off on too many tangents. Most people are looking for a solution to a problem. Give them the solution they are looking for. Always keep your ideal customer in mind. What problems do they have? How can you help them solve that problem? If you can solve their problems, they will trust you and that will build your reputation.

Tell A Story…

One of the best ways to help build your reputation and help your customers is to relate to them on a personal level. Tell a story about a problem you had and how you solved it. Show them that you are a regular guy just like they are. People want to know that they are not alone, that they are not stupid because they don’t know how to do something. They want to know that you had the same struggles they have and how you overcame it. The good thing about stories is that you can evoke someone’s emotions and get them personally involved.

Get People Fascinated In You…

What is it about you that will make people want to know more about you? Did you overcome the fear of your family knowing that you were doing internet marketing? Were you embarrassed, were you afraid of rejection, of fear of failure? These are common things that hold people back. People want to know that other people have the same fears. The fact that you can show them how you overcame those fears and moved forward is huge to your market. 

Consistency is very important!

Reputation Will Precede Content…

You must get your information out into the marketplace. You want to become larger than life. By that I mean you want to have a name for yourself, you want a following that looks forward to your content each week. You have the credibility and the answers to their struggles. Your picture is all over the internet so people will recognize you when you share your content, It will mean something. 

You Must Produce Everyday…

You must be consistent in your marketing. People will always come back to see what you have to offer. You always want to give more than you hope to get. The more you give, the more you will get in the long run. Get your content out here everyday. Do a blog post, do a video, send a Tweet, post on your Facebook Fan Page, do a podcast or a webinar. Build you reputation as someone who provides value and is helpful to others. Remember, one of the most important things people can see is your name and your picture on your content!
