Start Where You Are

I believe that one of the hardest things about starting an online business is getting started. Most people are worried that they don’t have enough knowledge, skill, or time. With online marketing, as with any other endeavor, you simply must get started. You have to take that first step, that leap of faith, if you will.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am not advocating that you just  jump out there blindly. If you are considering starting an online business, you already have in mind your knowledge, your skills, and you realize the time concerns. I came across this quote that I think says it all:

Start Where You Are, Use What You Have, Do What You Can…by Young Digital Nomad

Start Where You Are…

If you look at what you want to do, you know what will be needed to get started. Do you have some knowledge, talent or skill that you are wanting to share with other people. You might want to do a video, or write an article, or maybe set up a blog to interact with your audience. You can use your smartphone to do a video and post it on Facebook, or on You Tube. You could write an article and  submit it to an article directory such as Ezine Articles. You could set up a blog on WordPress, Blogger, or Tumblr. These things can all be easily done, and they will get you started.

Use What You Have…

Use your knowledge and get it out to your audience. Take the skill you have and create a video or article, and get it out there for people to see and interact with. People are craving information about all sorts of things. Remember, there is someone out there that wants to know what you have to offer. You just have to give it to them. You will be surprised at the interaction and feedback that you will get.

Do What You Can…

Perhaps you don’t have a lot of time. Maybe you can only find the time to make one video, or write one article. That is alright. Just do what you can, and be consistent. If you can only do one thing per week, in one year, you will have done 52 things. 52 is better than nothing. The key is to get started and be consistent with your action.

To your success,
